Surrounded by family, Edward Ellis Davis (1953-2016) was called to his Heavenly home on November 23, 2016.

Born and raised in north St Louis County, Missouri, Ed met his wife Beth at the young age of 3 and later married, a union lasting more than 43 years. After the birth of 2 daughters, they moved to rural central Missouri to enjoy all that country living could offer a family. Ed, a true Mr. Fix-It, spent his career working in maintenance and home remodeling. His hands were an extension of his keen creativity and need to constantly improve any object. One of Ed's greatest projects and joys was his "campground", reclaimed land that he transformed to a beloved lake and family gathering place. Ed was also an avid traveler, enjoying the backroads and byways across the United States. He was a member of the Sturgeon Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loved and devoted wife - Beth (nee Fish); his proud and grateful daughters and their spouses - Emily (Dwayne) and Juli (Brad); and his grandchildren and best fishing buddies - Naomi, Isaiah, and Zeke. Other survivors include his parents - Richard and Jenny (Plough) Davis; 3 brothers and spouses - Duane (Alice), Steve (Kerry), and Tim (Lisa); and several nieces and nephews.

Aside from his family, Ed loved nothing more than to enjoy the natural creations in this world - hiking in the woods with his family, fishing at Fern lake with his grandchildren, or just taking in a hilltop view with his wife. A memorial service is planned for 2 pm on Saturday, May 27th, 2017 at Fern Lake, located at 4899 Gordon Road in Sturgeon, MO.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, eligible loved ones make a blood donation, and consider becoming a regular donor, with the American Red Cross. For those not donor-eligible, contributions can be made in honor of Ed's service to others with the North American Mission Board Disaster Relief Fund at https://donations.namb.net/.

This is not the end but the beginning for Ed, as he is welcomed into the presence of his Heavenly Father. Those of us in Christ can rejoice that we will someday be reunited with Ed in Heaven.
