Kenneth William Thornton, 85, of Rocheport, MO, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at his home near Rocheport, MO.



Visitation will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with funeral services following at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.

Kenneth was born on January 7, 1932 in Huntsdale, MO the son of Conrad and Jewell (Poe) Thornton who preceded him in death. He was married on June 28, 1958 in Hannibal, MO to Loretta Thompson who passed away on April 29, 2001. He was then married on February 3, 2002 in Huntsdale, MO to Annie (Coleman) Green who survives of the home. He was a veteran of the US Army where he was awarded three Bronze Stars in the Korean War. He was also a member of Huntsdale Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a member of Cooper Lodge #36 where he was a Master Mason. He owned and operated Columbia Janitorial until his retirement.



Other survivors include: five children, Wayne Thornton of Jefferson City, MO, Terry Thornton (Johaunna) of Vista, CA, Curtis Thornton (Brenda) of Columbia, MO, Kevin Thornton (Lisa) of Sturgeon, MO and Connie Morgan (Alan) of Paris, MO; three step children, Vivian Breedlove (Larry) of Peoria, AZ, Cindy Croy (Dennis) of Rocheport, MO and Robert Green (Rose) of Dover, DE; 15 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and three half sisters, Karen Beasley, Judy Johnston (Scott) and Mary Greene (Bob). He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Lucas Thornton, four sisters and one half brother.
